WHEN I came to the club I wanted to put Worcester on the map as a football city.
We managed to do that quite quickly with the Huddersfield game in the FA Cup last year and it would be nice to see us do that again.
If we can get through to the first round proper of the FA Cup we might be on television again if we get a good draw, but that's a long way off.
We have got to get Worcester in the spotlight as a football city. We know the potential is there, we have just got to realise it.
If things keep progressing as they are off the field, looking towards a new ground, and on the field in the league and having a good run in the cup, hopefully that will push Worcester forward.
We say before every round that it's a massive game for the club and it's a great opportunity financially against Basingstoke on Saturday.
The match against Hemel Hempstead in the third qualifying round was our semi-final and we have got to the final against Basingstoke.
Anything from this game on is a massive bonus for the club.
We have got a great opportunity, as have Basingstoke, of getting through. We want to give our best and hopefully that will be good enough.
With the Basingstoke game coming up we need everybody fit. Justin Thompson had to go to hospital for stitches in his head after the game with Stourport Swifts on Monday. You normally have them in for seven days but he should be OK for Saturday.
We have got Chris Smith and Mark Danks coming back from suspension but Dennis Pearce is struggling a little bit with his groin.
We just need everybody fit at the moment.
Steve Jenkins has gone to Newport County and he captained the side in their win 3-1 home win against Sutton United on Saturday, which shows what a player he is.
I think Steve enjoyed himself at the club and his time with the lads. He agonised over his decision to go to Newport and he came to Monday's game against Swifts to keep in touch with the lads.
He was getting back to match fitness and match sharpness and his last couple of games were his best for us. It was disappointing for him to go when he was getting back to his best.
He was a good signing for us, it's just unfortunate that we couldn't do anything more permanent in putting him on a contract because it would have put him out of reach of our finances. We wish him all the best.
