CLUB captain Phil MacDonell and his team led the way in the latest round of pre-Christmas whisky trot competitions at Worcester Golf and Country Club.
MacDonell’s team, also including Paul Connolly, Steve Richards and Paul Murton, recorded 97 stableford points in the four-ball alliance format, seven in front of the runners-up.
Neil Grubb, Andy Widdowson, Dave Goodall and Rob Perrins were second on 87 points, while Paul Barwick, Barry Harris, Ross Wood and Robin George finished a point behind in third. Peter Eccles, Alan Courtney, Robin Davis and Nigel Weaver were fourth.
The Stevens brothers, Graham and Trevor, along with Anthony Ottway and Richard Plews won a four-ball alliance medal competition with a nett score of 122 – 16 under par.
Three shots behind in second place were John Matthews, Geoff Tyler, Ken Bateman, and Mick George with Duncan Macpherson, Mark Bishop, Steve Matthews and Martin Gasic back in third slot.
