MARK Harrison feared his dream of partnering Evesham Golf Club’s head pro Daniel Clee in the grand final of the Virgin Atlantic PGA National Pro-Am Championship in Las Vegas had been sunk before it even began.
Having qualified for the prestigious event, Harrison’s joy was short-lived when he realised it clashed with a cruise to the USA and Canada he’d booked.
He explained: “I tried to get the date of the cruise changed. At first, they said that if I did that then I would lose all the money I’d spent on it.
“I tried to tell them that this was a prestigious final of a national golf competition and sent them a link to the PGA website.
“I was just about to write to Richard Branson to ask him to intervene when the company finally allowed me to bring my holiday forward.”
