RICHARD Plews romped to victory in Division One of Worcester Golf and Country Club Thursday medal when he shot a nett 67, playing off four handicap.
In second place was Darren Stevenson (77-12-65), while junior member Sam Jones (76-10-66) took third on count-back from James Banks (72-6-66).
Plews also won the prize for the day’s lowest gross score and Andy Bradley (78-13-65) topped Division Two.
New member James Inglis won the junior medal competition and also the Abbott and Saunders Shield when he recorded 81-22-59.
Daniel Adams (84-19-65) was second and Jordan Wilson finished third with 91-25-66.
The popular club day saw a large turnout with members from all sections participating in the Texas Scramble format.
One-tenth of combined handicap meant some close finishes for the prizes with the winning team recording a score of 52.8.
Dave Holliday, Peter Webster, Lucian Delorenzo and Richard Smith topped the list with Ken Murton, Martin Bennett, Dave Goodall, and Mary Wood, with 53.7, finishing runners-up.
Third spot, with 55.5, went to Alec Mackie, Den Hall, Brian Warrington and Graham Smith.
Dick Hanks, Chick Smith, Dave Lannie and Margaret Anne-Stocker were fourth with 56.1.
