NEIL Grubb shot an inspired round to lift the President’s Cleek at Worcester Golf and Country Club.
Grubb, playing off four, beat a large field of nearly 200 players to lift the trophy for the first time with a stableford total of 44 points.
Grubb was in superb form and drove the 373-yard seventh to record one of his five birdies.
Adrian Avery, also shot 44 points, playing off 15, but lost on the back nine count-back to finish second. Kevin Sproul (eight) was third, also on count-back with 44 points.
Christopher Colenso won the junior section’s Richard Young Trophy with 41 points, playing off 14 handicap.
Colenso finished just in front of 25 handicapper Jordan Wilson on count-back.
Sam Jones (11) was third with 40 points.
