A LARGE field competed for the August Saturday medal at Worcester Golf and Country Club and it was Tony Sanders who mastered the lightening-fast greens and hard fairways to record a nett 66 to top Division One.
Sanders, playing off five, recorded four birdies, to finish one shot ahead of Les Jenkins (76-9-67). Richard Plews (71-4-67) finished third on count-back.
Anthony Ottway recorded the day’s lowest gross with 70-2-68.
In Division Two, Mike Darby recorded his second medal win of the season when he finished with 77-12-65 and also recorded the division’s lowest gross score.
Jeremy O’Keefe finished runner-up with 78-11-67, while Peter Webster (83-15-68) pushed Robin Davis (79-11-68) into fourth on count-back.
James Quinn followed his success in the May medal with another victory to top Division Three with 82-16-66, pushing Darren Wilkins (85-19-66) into second spot on count-back.
Phil Wilde (85-18-67) finished third and James Reading-Widdett (84-17-67) was fourth on count-back.
Quinn recorded the division’s lowest gross with his 82.
