THE Legal Owls, the team from MFG Solicitors, swooped to claim the inaugural Modus Powerplay Golf Championship title at Ravenmeadow Golf Centre.
In an exciting climax to the nine-hole summer competition, MFG narrowly held off the challenge of the Attraction World team.
The winning side sealed victory with an exceptional performance, returning the highest weekly score of the entire tournament with an 87-point haul.
Prior to the final night of the league, Attraction World needed to finish within two places of MFG to secure the title.
However, strong performances from other teams, The Gimmie (75) and Firmingers (77) made it a tough ask.
Attraction World managed 70 points, MFG’s outstanding performance saw them crowned champions.
The Modus Powerplay Championship, which was sponsored by MFG Solicitors, also raised well over £1,000 for the Wooden Spoon charity Ravenmeadow professional James Leaver said: “The Powerplay tournament has been a great way to raise some money for a good cause.
“Also, we will be going ahead again with the Nine At Night, which was a great success last year.”
