JOHN Rudge became the first member of Worcester’s Perdiswell club to retain the club championship.
He narrowly beat Steve Kupfer into second place after having an excellent round and improved on his winning score from 2010 of 78 with an exceptional 74.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Perdiswell captains presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Help for Heroes charity.
This is the first year that all three captains, club, seniors and ladies, have agreed to support the same charity.
They all thanked the club membership for their support.
The Kidderminster club’s ladies played their annual championship and victory went to Karen Greenfield on 148 closely followed by Anna Rock, 152.
The Jean Field Spoons competition for handicaps from 28 to 36 was won by Pam Byrne (78 nett) followed by Win Brine (79).
The Alan Lloyd men’s competition, played over 36 holes, went to a three-way play-off over four holes with the winner being Dean Richards, followed by Robert Pooler and Alan Manion equal second.
