AN under 16s schoolboys’ football team have swept all before them by winning four trophies in a single season.
Christopher Whitehead Language College from St John’s, Worcester, were in fine form to claim a league title and three cup competitions.
Coached by Laurence Helme, the pupils came out on top in the Droitwich and Worcester City Sports Partnership League which involved five other schools.
They then won the league cup and also the Worcestershire County Cup by beating St Augustine’s from Redditch in both finals.
To cap their campaign, the Bromwich Road outfit secured the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Cup with a penalty shoot-out success at Hereford United’s Edgar Street ground. Captain Ben Mitchell struck the decisive spot-kick against Hereford’s Whitecross High School for a 4-3 triumph.
This season is the last the team plays together as they take their GCSEs this summer before leaving school.
