A HOME club at team won this year’s Corbett Bowl Droitwich Golf and Country Club, one of the most prestigious competitions on the calendar.
It is an open foursomes bogey competition which attracts some of the best golfers from around the Midlands.
Representatives come from all the local clubs and wider afield into West Midlands.
The winning team, who are new members, having joined in late 2010, previously played golf elsewhere locally. Antony Lyden and Pete Finlan won with a score of plus four playing off handicaps of 12 and 21 respectively.
They narrowly beat second place by just one point which, in this format, represents a very good score. With a field of 92 teams, only 10 managed to return a positive score.
The winning pair were presented with the Corbett Bowl by the club captain Roger Whiteman.
