KIDDERMINSTER Victoria ended up with a losing draw against Barnt Green in the Birmingham League Premier Division.
In a rain-delayed clash, Barnt Green won the toss and inserted the visitors, who are still without an overseas player.
Craig Wood, who batted the entire innings for his unbeaten 79, and Jon Smith (11) opened for KVCC.
On a slow wicket, the pair found runs hard to come by.
Neil Pinner scored steadily but, having reached 29, was caught by Andy Smith.
The score had risen to 68 by the 27th over and Wood was batting cautiously.
Following the departures of James Ralph (34) and Andy Kimberlin, the score had moved to 154 with only seven overs remaining.
Then Chris Pyke (42) helped take the score up to 217, hitting a boundary and four sixes along the way.
Wood remained at the crease as Kidderminster reached 221-5.
Green’s reply was reduced to 40 overs because of the rain, meaning they would need 160 for the winning draw.
The hosts lost three wickets inside 11 overs with only 43 runs on the board.
Former Kidderminster player Richard Wilkinson was joined by Dougie Brown and they added 148 runs in 25 overs before Richard Kimberlin took a catch on the boundary to dismiss Wilkinson for 83.
Kieron Rees was bowled first ball by Mark Mansell and he struck again with only three runs added.
This time it was Brown (64) who was caught by Richard Kimberlin.
With the overs running out, Green settled for a winning draw. Mansell took 3-44 and Gareth Williams 2-40.
