WORCESTER Nomads had to settle for a losing draw at home to Astwood Bank in their rain-affected Division One encounter.
Nomads were inserted and openers Sam Roberts and Jon Inglis made steady progress against the Bank seam attack.
Spinners Dan Taylor and Miles Haslam piled on the pressure and, eventually, Inglis was stumped by skipper Steve Adshead off the bowling of Taylor for 41.
Dylan Stanley (18), Liam O’Driscoll (26) and Steve Bowman (28) all injected some much-needed urgency into the scoring as Nomads finished on 228-5 with Roberts unbeaten on 88.
O’Driscoll trapped Andy Clayton lbw for nine and captain Ben Schiffmann (3-40) grabbed the prized wicket of Adshead, caught behind by Reg Dixon for 20.
The weather closed in and, when play resumed, Bank needed 48 off 5.2 overs to claim the winning draw.
With eight wickts in hand, a wet ball and nothing to lose, this was comfortably achieved.
The visitors reached 151-4 with Tom Pedley unbeaten on 59.
