WORCESTER secured a winning draw against Pershore in Worcestershire League Division One as the weather once again played its part.
Having seen hosts Pershore post 227-6, thanks to a first-wicket 138-run partnership between Gary Stevenson and David White, Worcester reached 153-7 to secure 12 points.
Home skipper Ciaran Sanders lost the toss at the Bottoms and his side, who collected nine points, were put into bat.
Worcester, however, were unable to make early inroads as Stevenson and White laid the foundations for a big score.
Stevenson (23) played a supporting role in an opening partnership of 138 but it was his dismissal that allowed Worcester back in to the game.
A flurry of wickets, including that of White for an excellent 93, saw Pershore slump to 173-5 before Lee Wilks (35) and Sam Cross (23 not out) took the hosts to 227-6.
Weston (4-55) and captain Liam Kelleher (1-28) were once again the most successful Worcester bowlers.
Despite the early loss of Nick Brown (12), Worcester began their reply well with Jack Horton (34) and Dan McKay (27) adding 43 for the second wicket.
However, quick wickets fell either side of two short rain delays as Wilks and Luke Dalley imparted pressure on the visitors.
Worcester’s innings was reduced to 31 overs with 142 required for a winning draw and captain Kelleher (24no) led his team to 153-7 with support from Matt Walters (12) and Oliver Peppiatt (8no).
Dalley (2-58) and Wilks (3-38) were the pick of the Pershore bowlers.
Bromyard, for whom Zahid Saeed scored 104 not out, defeated Romsley and Hunnington by 100 runs and now sit second in Division One.
In Division Two, Burghill and Tillington lead the way after a seven-wicket win over neighbours Wormelow thanks to Alex Hedges’ 156 not out.
Rushwick had to concede top spot to Harborne in Division Three as they were unable to get the final three Himbleton batsmen out and had to settle for a winning draw.
