WORCESTER Golf and Country Club have another fully-qualified PGA professional on their books.

Ian Henry, who has just graduated in sports science, coaching, equipment technology and business management at Birmingham University, will be joining the club’s current professional Graham Farr.

Henry, who is 22 and has been at the Boughton Park club for five years, rounded off a successful week by lifting the Derek Greey Cup.

The trophy, a winter alliance pro-am competition, was played over eight venues, including The Worcestershire, Redditch and Stourbridge.

Henry took eight different teams of four to the courses and lifted the cup for the first time and also became the first professional from Boughton Park to win the trophy.

Meanwhile, Mike Darby will be joining Farr in the PGA Pro-Am qualifier at Little Aston in June after recording the lowest nett in the May monthly medal.

Scratch handicapper Lee Richardson recorded the competition’s lowest gross with a 69 in Division One, but finished in third place behind Pete Griffiths (70-5-65) and Tony Sanders (72-5-67).
