MEDALS belonging to a former Worcestershire and England cricket legend have been stolen from New Road.
Police are appealing for information following the theft at Worcestershire County Cricket Club.
The incident took place between Sunday, April 24 and midnight on Thursday, May 5.
Two Basil D’Oliveira man of the match gold coins in presentation cases were taken from a cabinet in the foyer of the Graeme Hick pavilion.
A silver goblet, eight inches tall, along with a presentation card to Mr D’Oliveira in 1964, were also taken.
The items were on loan to the club from Mr D’Oliveira.
A police spokesman said: “The items stolen mean a lot to everyone at the cricket club and obviously the D’Oliveira family.
“They are very distinctive and may turn up for sale somewhere in the next few weeks.”
