MORE than 200 members of Worcester Golf and Country Club turned out to support new captain Phil MacDonell on his drive-in day.
Playing a stableford format, teams of four competed for the many prizes available. The winning team, with 86 points, were Ian Savage, Rob Powell, Kevin Sproul and Sue Bayliss.
Ron Carver, Rich Jones, Brian Llewellyn and John Hadley finished second with 85 points.
One point behind in third were Pete Griffiths, Ken Murton, George Turberfield and Graham Smith. In fourth place, with 83 points, were Andy Baker, Richard Plews, Gerald Hick, and Brian Webb.
The longest drive prize, with a massive 302 yards, was won by Mark Carpenter. The nearest the pin prize was picked up by Grenville Rose, while Robin George recorded his first-ever hole-in-one on the 17th green.
