HEREFORD United face relegation rivals Macclesfield Town at Edgar Street tonight looking to get back on the win trail (7.45).

Manager Jamie Pitman insists Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Lincoln City was just a blip following a run that saw the Bulls lose only one of their previous eight matches.

The weekend loss left Hereford just three points above the npower League Two drop-zone, one place and a point better off than Macclesfield.

The Silkmen, who have a game in hand over United after Saturday’s home match with Bradford was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, have not won since November 20.

Pitman said: “It’s a massive game but it’s another one in the next 20 that we need to get through to get as many points as we can. It’s winnable and one we need three points from.

“We have gone nine games with two losses so we are doing well. It was a little blip on Saturday, we just need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

“Lincoln made it very difficult and the conditions were tough. We didn’t quite have the end-product that we have had in recent weeks.”

The Bulls boss has not ruled out making changes for the visit of Gary Simpson’s side, adding: “Everyone is fit and healthy, we have just got to pick a winning team.”
