A PERSHORE motorsport team are offering a financial incentive to any driver who can win them the 2011 Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup.

Rob Austin Racing are entering two cars in the competition, which runs as a support race at each Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship meeting.

The eventual winner claims a drive in the BTCC for 2012 but has to fund their tyres throughout the season.

But Rob Austin Racing will foot the bill to the tune of £30,000 if it is their driver who is successful over the coming months.

Team principal Rob Austin said: “This offer will be perfect for a driver who can clinch the championship.

“While Ginetta’s prize is fantastic, getting the £30,000 tyre budget on top will be the icing on the cake.”

Talks have taken place with drivers but the team, who are also running two Audi A4s in the BTCC this season, hope to attract more with their offer.

Austin added: “Discussions are well under way with two real championship contenders. We have won many Ginetta races over the years but now want to win the championship.”

Meanwhile, the team hope to announce their driver line-up for the BTCC campaign at Silverstone on March 24.

The Audi A4s will have VW/ Audio Group two-litre TFSI engines supplied by Stockport-based Ric Wood Motorsport.
