WORCESTER Wolves director of basketball Paul James is hoping tonight’s game at Sheffield Sharks (7.30pm) will not be shrouded in controversy.

When the two teams met at the University of Worcester back in October, the South Yorkshire side claimed an 83-82 victory.

However, the match ended on a free-throw and James immediately complained to the British Basketball League stating this was against the rules.

“The league took the opinions of two assessors, one said a match could end on a free-throw and the other said it couldn’t,” James said. “I guess they went with the one who said it could because we didn’t get the two points.

“Since that match Sheffield have been on a good run, while I think our confidence was affected.”

Ninth-placed Wolves will be looking to bounce back from a 104-92 defeat to eighth-placed Leicester Riders last weekend — a loss which has severely affected their hopes of making the play-offs.
