IT is an exciting time at the Warriors and I cannot wait to try and earn my place back in the match squad.
I checked in with the physios on Boxing Day for a tough rehab session and managed to catch up with the squad.
From an outside position it is obvious just how much our intensity has improved during the week compared to seasons’ past.
We have been asked to raise the intensity in sessions and the players are delivering.
Everyone is improving as rugby players and I am very excited to get myself back into these sessions soon.
Speaking with the guys on Boxing Day, I know everyone enjoyed spending Christmas with their families and not too much turkey was eaten in light of the Moseley fixture.
I am also hoping those reading this have had a very good Christmas and are looking forward to the Bristol match on Sunday.
With the Moseley game having been put back 48 hours to yesterday, we were hungry to get back out there and in front of a big crowd.
However, had it not been for the fantastic efforts by the staff and supporters to clear the stadium and pitch, there would have been no chance of us getting out there so huge thanks to all who helped.
As the thaw continues so the fixtures keep rolling along, hopefully bringing more wins with them.
Sunday will be massive. League position and current results aside, we know we are in for a seriously tough test.
Bristol away is a fixture we have struggled with in the past. This season must be different. Bedford tamed Bristol in convincing fashion on Boxing Day in one of the very few sporting events to survive the harsh winter weather.
Bristol went down 39-22 away from home and sit eighth in the league. A win against us will no doubt see them end their season with a comfortable play-off place.
We can, however, continue to build our physiological advantage over them for when we do meet at the business end of the season, which I am sure we will.
It is easy to allow ourselves to switch off over this period. With family and friends enjoying the holidays we remain focused on regaining our spot in the top flight.
We push on both on and off the field looking to reach peak physical and playing condition when we start the play-offs.
Over the next few weeks every member of the squad will take part in a mini ‘pre-season’ between fixtures.
We are very lucky to have the conditioning staff we do and their season plan will come into its own by March.
