ADAM Webster is still in a lot of pain after his ankle injury and is struggling at the moment.
We don't know yet whether he will be out for three months, six months or even the whole season.
Webby has had an X-ray on his ankle and will have a scan too, so when we get the results of that we will know where he is. We should have the results by the middle of next week.
Mark Danks is still out for another three weeks, but we just have to deal with it.
Craig Wilding was outstanding on Saturday and he showed what a quality player he is.
We have also got Troy Wood and myself to play up front, but that is a lot to ask for both of us to play game-after-game, so we might have to look at getting someone in.
It is not ideal, but it is part of football unfortunately and we have to deal with it.
It upsets you, but when you plan for something and these things happen it is totally out of your hands.
The Des Lyttle situation could have been avoided, while Justin Thompson and George Clegg are both struggling with their ankles.
When you add in Webby and Danks, that is five players out of our potential starting XI who we will be missing at the beginning of the season.
We hope to be challenging for the play-offs, but these type of things do make life difficult.
I know every team has injury problems, but we just seem to have no luck at all.
However, this is a great opportunity for other players in the squad.
They can try and take their opportunity and make it difficult for the other players to get their places back when they return.
We think they are good enough -- that is why they are in the squad -- but it is up to them to do a job for us.
We have got Barrow on Saturday and they have a good manager in Phil Wilson, who has done well at this level.
He worked wonders at Lancaster on a very small budget and now he is at Barrow he has one of the bigger budgets in the league.
I expect them to improve on last year and they should be up there challenging at the end of the season.
It is another difficult start to a season for us, but hopefully we can get a result and build up some momentum.
Hopefully, as our players come back, we will still be in touch with the leaders and I am confident we can do that.
I believe the usual teams will be up there challenging again this year -- the likes of Nuneaton Borough, Stalybridge Celtic, Droylsden, Kettering and Hyde -- but there are 14 or 15 teams who are good enough to be battling it out at the top of the league.
We've worked hard on defending set-pieces, but it comes down to individuals doing their job.
They have got to do their marking jobs to make sure the opposition don't get headers in on goal.
These are things we can work on, but it is not as if teams are slicing us apart and getting lots of one-on-one opportunities.
Jay Sztybel has done well in pre-season. There are still a couple of things he needs to work on, but he has learned well and wants to improve.
He has agreed a one-month deal and hopefully we can extend that as we go on.
Finally, I'd like to appeal to anyone who might be interested in filming our home games for us to use for training purposes to get in touch with the club on 01905-23003.
