WORCESTER Wolves have been handed a major boost for the new season after securing the services of Matt Collins for another year.
Wolves snapped up the point guard from Coventry Crusaders at the turn of the year and have now convinced Collins to stay at University College Worcester until at least next summer.
Collins has proved a huge hit since his move across the Midlands, marred by controversy when Coventry refused to release the player and demanded a transfer fee.
Director of basketball Mick Donovan said negotiations had been in progress for some time but they were delighted to get their man for a further 12 months.
He said: "When he came half-way through the season from Coventry, he came to Worcester for a breath of fresh air but he has enjoyed it so much we have convinced him it's the best club for him and he has said he wants to be a part of it."
The England Basketball League Division One side are hoping Collins will form a fruitful on-court partnership with new American shooting guard signing Mark White.
