ADAM Ward scored 15 minutes from time to hand Bromyard Town a 1-0 victory over Worcester City in their pre-season friendly on Wednesday.
The former Pershore Town player-boss headed home from close range after 75 minutes to seal a well-deserved win.
City featured first teamers Des Lyttle, set to be banned for the opening of the season, and Troy Wood.
But many of the other players were held back for last night's game with Sheffield United.
Wood should have put City ahead in the first-half but he wasted two good opportunities.
West Midlands League premier division side Bromyard gained more possession after the break and got their reward when Ward found the net.
