HEREFORD'S Susan Young took on the men and beat them all as she recorded the best time of the day at the Shelsley Walsh classic meeting.
Young, racing in a Gould GR51 in class F, recorded times of 26.78 and 29.79 seconds.
Worcester driver Bob Gale's first appearance at Shelsley Walsh since being airlifted to hospital during a race two years ago ended with him taking second place.
Gale was runner-up in the merged B1 and B2 class race in his Westfield SEiw during Saturday's hill climb.
It was in marked contrast to his last visit in May 2004 when he suffered a back injury after crashing his car.
He produced run times of 34.76 and 35.37.
Racing in the same class, Bromyard's John Bishop produced times of 39.72 and 40.34 in his Westfield Sei.
Another Bromyard racer, Richard Mason, recorded times of 35.64 and 35.41 in an Austin Healey 3000, while Great Witley's Matthew Hum-phries, in his MGB GT, had times of 48.51 and 48.02.
Hamish Lindsay, in the E3 racing car class, took part in a Jedi and ended up with a time of 30.71 on Saturday, followed by times of 29.77 and 29.79 the next day.
