THE Hereford Evening Lea-gue beat their Worcester Evening League counterparts by seven wickets in the annual match at Colwall for the Wood Power Trophy.
Worcester batted first and openers Sean Jenkins and Liam Weston were bogged down by some accurate bowling by Alan Butterworth and Alan Jones.
Josh Staines (26) and Wad-dington Mwayenga (18) im-proved the run rate, but hereford's Adam Herbert (4-14) proved too good for the rest of the Worcester batsman.
Hereford slipped to 21-3 when they started their reply with Mike Rogers and Mway-enga each picking up a wicket but Adam Hewlett 40 and Andy Watkins (15) took their side to 88-3 and a seven-wicket victory.
