ENGLAND legend Jonny Wilkinson will be among the replacements for Newcastle Falcons when they travel to Worcester tomorrow (2pm).

The fly-half is on the comeback trail after missing most of the season with a groin problem -- but he is not being risked from the start.

Even without Wilkinson, there is plenty of international quality in the Newcastle back-line. The centre pairing is made up of England internationals Jamie Noon and Mathew Tait while `sevens' star Ollie Phillips is on the wing.

Falcons director of rugby Rob Andrew is experimenting with a new half-back pairing that sees Hall Charlton and Toby Flood replace James Grindal and Dave Walder respectively.

Andrew said: "We have selected a side with a lot of pace and creativity to go out and score tries, and hopefully at some stage we will see the Wilkinson, Noon and Tait midfield combination that worked so well in the second-half against London Irish last Sunday.

"That trio has only played about 47 minutes together this season, but even in that short time we saw how devastating it can be.

"We just have to be careful with Jonny that we don't expect too much, too quickly. Half a game is about all he has in him at the moment and we're just managing him properly rather than being tempted to chuck him in from the start."

In the Falcons' front row, Jonny Williams starts at loose head prop for Micky Ward, while Matt Thompson takes the place of Andy Long at hooker.

A re-shuffled back row sees Cory Harris come in to the side at open-side flanker, with Ben Woods moving back to number eight in place of Colin Charvis.

While Warriors have slipped to 11th in the table, their opponents still have an outside chance of making the top six.

Andrew added: "I've picked an attacking side to go down to Worcester, win the game and score at least four tries."
