EVESHAM United will feel aggrieved to return home pointless from their visit to Chippenham Town after conceding two goals in the final six minutes to go down 2-1 in the Zamaretto League Premier Division.
The Robins have now lost three league in a row and defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory.
In a poor first-half that was littered with niggling fouls, new signing Andy Ducros made his debut in midfield after joining from Redditch United but he limped off with a calf strain after 34 minutes and was replaced by Leon Woodley.
Kicking down the slope, Evesham began the second-half on a positive note taking a 49th minute lead.
Mark Hands’ inch perfect through-ball found substitute Danny Lennon who coolly beat Chris Snoddy in the Chippenham goal.
The Bluebirds stopper then denied leading scorer Marcus Palmer and then Lennon shot across an unguarded goal after dispossessing Alex Kite.
Lennon should have put the game to bed on the hour, but after rounding Snoddy, he was unable to find the net.
On 84 minutes, Greg Tindle crossed from the left and Alan Griffin levelled with a looping header over United keeper Nathan Vaughan.
Then, one minute from time, the Evesham defence failed to deal with Scott Lye’s ball into the box, allowing Lewis Powell to drive home an unlikely winner.
Stourport Swifts slumped to a 4-3 home defeat to Woodford United in Division One Midlands despite going 3-1 up.
Dan Polan struck twice for the Walshes Meadow side with Chris Cornes netting the other Swifts goal, however, a quartet from Glen Hawkins saw Woodford take the points.
