ST George’s overwhelmed Rainbow in decisive fashion in the clash of the Worcester Table Tennis League Division One titans.
The 8-2 victory could go a long way to ensuring St George’s retain their title.
Lewis and Michael Siket won all their singles convincingly and combined to win the doubles.
Led by three wins from Joe Higgs and two from Griffiths, Rainbow beat Hartlebury Wanderers 6-4.
Two 5-5 draws meant Broadheath Belters earned useful points with the unbeaten Brett Brining largely to thank for that.
Brining and Stevens earned Belters their first doubles success of the season. In winning two and sharing in a narrow victory partnering Pete Roberts, Brining also had a good evening in a 7-3 defeat to YMCA Falcons.
However, his recent successful run ended when Ian Bell saw him off on his way to claiming a maximum.
Chris Jones was in good form for Love City Groove in Division Two.
Jones won his three singles and secured a valuable point for his team in their 7-3 defeat to YMCA Elizabethans.
Elizabethans’ Dean Lewis, David Bradley and Brian Ovington won two singles each.
Love City Groove also lost 10-0 to table-toppers St Martin’s.
Strensham and WGCC shared a 5-5 draw.
Brian Webb was the star performer with three singles wins for the golf club.
YMCA Kites moved into second place with a 10-0 win over basement team U3A.
