HEREFORD United manager John Trewick says his players are fully devoted to getting back to winning ways at Macclesfield Town tomorrow (3pm).
The Bulls head to the Moss Rose for the League Two clash looking to consign last Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat against Notts County to the history books.
The United boss says that has to be the focus despite the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy southern area semi-final against Milton Keynes Dons at Edgar Street looming large on Tuesday.
Trewick said: “I think we have got to focus fully on tomorrow. It’s a very important game.
“We are coming to the half-way stage in the season — we have got three more matches to get to that stage and we want to win each one.
“I think we have to treat the game against MK Dons as a completely separate issue and think about that when the time comes although we would love to win and get through to the area final.”
Macclesfield have not won in their last seven league and cup matches, while Hereford will be looking to follow up a 3-1 victory at Northampton on December 1 with their second away league win of the season.
The Bulls boss continued: “I don’t tend to look too closely at statistics.
“I think we have to treat the opposition with respect and keep our own house in order.
“Generally speaking, over the last dozen matches or so, we have done quite well.
“We have had the odd blip over the course of the season but that happens.
“We didn’t play particularly well against a good side on the day in Notts County last Saturday but we’ll put that behind us.
“We’ll look to go to Macclesfield and keep the same level of performance we showed against Northampton in our last away game.
“If we do that, I will be happy.”
Centre-half Darren Jones trained for the first time this week yesterday following a knee problem and is expected to be fit for the trip to Cheshire. Fellow defender Danny Blanchett (groin) should also be available, according to Trewick, but full-back Ryan Green is a doubt with a long-standing thigh complaint.
Richard Rose replaced him as a substitute at the weekend and could be called into the starting line-up.
Impressive on-loan Birmingham City midfielder Jordon Mutch could also miss out.
He was due to play against Manchester United for his parent club in an FA Youth Cup third round tie last night.
