ZACH Dunn bagged four goals as Worcester Badgers Potters capped a good hockey display with a 7-0 win over Evesham.
The city side kept the promising youngsters of Evesham at bay throughout.
Worcester scored twice in the first-half and then, with increased confidence, slipped another five past the keeper for a great win.
As well as Dunn’s four goals, Daniel Ferrier (2) and Jack Cutler also scored.
Worcester Badgers Pippins were also successful, defeating Bromsgrove 2-0.
After a slow start against young opposition, Edward Brown opened the scoring with a left-wing shot from a narrow angle.
Worcester controlled the game better in the second-half with the midfield keeping plenty of possession.
After a flowing move, Cutler hit a great second goal to seal the win.
Meanwhile, Worcester Thirds drew 1-1 at Warwick University in the BodyKraft Midlands Men’s Premier Division.
On a cold, wet and windy afternoon, Worcester travelled in fine fettle after a couple of good recent results.
Worcester started brightly and had early chances but could not make them count in a relatively uneventful and goalless first-half.
A scrappy second period ensued with both sides enjoying possession but not creating any clear-cut opportunities before a lucky deflection saw Worcester go 1-0 down.
This spurred the visitors into life and a few shots went narrowly wide.
But finally Matt Walker popped up in the final minute to fire one in from the top of the ‘D’.
Worcester Fourths went down fighting in the Central League Midlands Premier Division against Leek.
The match was more even than the 4-1 scoreline suggests with just a single goal separating the sides at half-time.
Worcester came out for the second period more determined and equalised within two minutes through a powerful Matt Wilson strike from the top of the ‘D’.
They were unlucky not to take the lead soon afterwards when a short corner was cleared from the Leek goal-line, having beaten their keeper.
But Leek then managed to add two goals in quick succession following a period of end-to-end play.
As Worcester chased the game, Leek stayed in control, adding one more to keep Worcester near the bottom of the table.
The sixths suffered a bad 3-0 home defeat to Stratford Fourths in South West Division One.
Worcester conceded all three goals in a 15-minute first-half spell after dominating the opening.
In the second period, Worcester rallied but could not overcome a resolute defence.
