STOURPORT Fourths closed the gap on Worcestershire Women’s Hockey League Division Three leaders Harborne Fifths to six points with a 4-0 win over Bromsgrove Thirds.

Player-of-the-match Louise Marshall netted a hat-trick in the re-arranged clash.

The visitors had created a number of chances before the ball was struck across the ‘D’ from the right for Marshall to sweep home.

Moments later, the ball was deflected in at the post by Caroline Wilson to make it 2-0 after captain Teri Baron’s strike from a short corner.

Bromsgrove also went close in the first 10 minutes before the game settled down.

But Stourport were always stronger and Marshall completed the scoring with two more goals.

After taking an early lead, Stourport Men’s Sevenths had to wait until the second-half to seal the points in a 2-1 Fathom League win over Old Wulfrunians.

Josh Martin gave the Wyre Forest side an early lead but they failed to convert their other chances.

Old Wulfs missed a penalty stroke before equalising at the end of the first-half.

Player-of-the-match Ryan Delo grabbed the winner and good saves from Alex Cook also earned the success.
