WORCESTER St John’s Cycling Club young prospect Terry Chance has enjoyed a successful season.
The 13-year-old, coached by his father Chris and highly-respected Ian Fagan, has excelled in many races throughout 2009.
In the Castle Coombe Summer Series, he gained second, fourth and sixth places in the youth races.
The teenager also recorded two victories in the Leisure Lakes Bikes Circuit Races in June.
In August, Chance achieved arguably his best result to date by winning in the Forza Cycles Summer Series. He suffered a crash the following week but dusted himself down to win in the series again seven days later.
He has also pitted his wits against the seniors in the St John’s evening time trials this year.
With mentor Fagan, he recorded a time of 26 minutes 41 seconds on the Old Hills course before setting a time of 28.42 on his own to finish 23rd overall.
During the season, Chance has also won the club’s junior road race points trophy, the schoolboy shield and the Ernest Payne plaque for the fastest junior 10-mile time.
