EIGHT North Midlands players have been invited to play in the Midlands Under 16 final trial at Longton RFC in Stoke on Sunday (1pm).
Loosehead prop Damian Poole (Bromsgrove School) and fly-half Tom Sharwood (Bishop Perowne School, Worcester) have been named in the starting XV for the Blues and they will be in opposition to six of their county team-mates who have been included in the Reds squad.
Hooker Lewis Grinsall (Solihull School), flanker Harry Nuttall (King's Worcester), number eight Daniel Young (Bromsgrove School), scrum-half Sam Waltier (Bromsgrove School) and centre Ryan Millar (King Edward's Birmingham) have all been named in the starting line-up with winger Alex Rumsey (Minster School) on the bench.
All 48 players invited to the trial will start in at least one of the halves of the game.
The North Midlands players were selected for the trial having impressed the Midlands selectors during the recent programme of inter-county matches and also during an assessment session last weekend.
The final trial represents the last stage of the selection process for the Midlands Under 16 squad ahead of the first divisional festival at Broadstreet RFC, near Coventry, on January 10.
