EVESHAM United manager Paul West is demanding his players get their season back on track with tonight’s long trek to Truro City (7.45).
The Robins face a 440-mile round trip to Cornwall for the Zamaretto League Premier Division clash, giving them plenty of time to reflect on Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Swindon Supermarine.
It was a result that came on the back of a victory against Cambridge City and West was not pleased with the way his side approached the match at St George’s Lane.
He will be hoping for better against a Truro side thrashed 7-2 at Stourbridge at the weekend and 4-0 at Nuneaton prior to that.
“We have a chance to get back on track,” he said. “I was disappointed with Saturday because we didn’t build on the result and performance from the game before.
“It was more naivety from the players. We spoke about it before the game and at half-time that Swindon were going to make it difficult for us with just one up-front.
“They had a lot of bodies behind the ball and we came up short in terms of adapting to that. We didn’t compete and they got their just reward.”
Striker Jermaine Clarke (knee) could return but Mark Hands (ankle) is out and fellow midfielder Simon Fitter (ankle) is a doubt.
Meanwhile, Bromsgrove Rovers head to Atherstone Town (7.45) looking to avoid a third successive Zamaretto League Division One Midlands defeat following losses against AFC Sudbury and Bury Town.
