KIDDERMINSTER Harriers skipper Chris McPhee says he is at a loss to explain the Aggborough club’s dip in form in the Blue Square Premier.
Harriers have lost to AFC Wimbledon and drawn against Tamworth and Wrexham following on from impressive victories against Oxford United and Kettering Town.
The Aggborough side visit second-placed Stevenage Borough today as they look to get back on track and put more pressure on the play-off places.
McPhee said: “We’re very disappointed, performances of late haven’t been as high a standard as recently.
“We’ve come off the back of two wins against Oxford and Kettering and got a decent result at Wrexham so we’re scratching our heads as to why standards have dropped.
“At the moment we can’t come up with any answers because we had the opportunity to put ourselves up there and we’ve dropped five points in two games, which you can’t afford to do if you want to finish in the play-offs this season.
“We’ve got some work to do this week to make sure we approach it right and forget the past.”
He added: “Against the bigger teams we’re a threat and we do well, but that leaves us with the question of why we’re not performing against the smaller sides.
“The teams we are expected to beat we tend to struggle against and I don’t know if we get frustrated but I can’t put my finger on it.”
