A BEN Coker penalty was enough to condemn Bromsgrove Rovers to an away defeat in Zamaretto League Division One Midlands.
The spot kick was awarded to the hosts after 61 minutes for handball when the ball bounced up to Gavin Winsper’s hand.
Bury had numerous chances to extend their lead throughout the match but found Rovers goalkeeper Karl Lewis in inspired form. He denied Bury’s Sam Reed and Gavin Johnson during the goalless first-half.
But Rovers came back at the hosts during the second-half as Omar Spence lifted the ball over Garnham but Luke Findley failed to keep his header from going over the bar.
After the Bury penalty, Rovers substitute Danny Campbell took the ball past Garnham but could not force the ball home on 74 minutes.
Another couple of Lewis saves via efforts from Michael Steward and Lee Underwood denied the hosts from adding to their lead late on.
