WORCESTER City manager Richard Dryden has been hit by a double blow for tomorrow’s Blue Square South home clash with Bishop’s Stortford (3pm).
The St George’s Lane chief had hoped to run the rule over Tamworth left-back Dominic Langdon at training last night.
However, the 20-year-old, who had been playing for Zamaretto League Atherstone Town as he recovers from a broken foot, has been recalled to the Lambs squad for their Blue Square Premier trip to Grays Athletic.
Langdon, who was part of Tamworth’s Blue Square North title-winning side, is on non-contract terms at the Lambs and Dryden wanted the full-back to fill the void left by Shabir Khan’s international commitments with Pakistan in the South Asia Federations Cup.
“Dom was all set to come to training last night, but it fell through in the afternoon,” Dryden said.
“He was told that he was back in the Tamworth side and they are a league above us. It is a blow and we will keep searching.”
Dryden may have some extra cash to find a new full-back after on-loan striker Marvin Brown was recalled by Weston-super-Mare.
The City boss was still deciding whether to try and keep the former Bristol City trainee as his loan spell expired this weekend. But Weston have had their two on-loan strikers Ben Joyce and Dave Gilroy recalled by Tor-quay and Newport respectively.
