MIKE Ward’s bid to take control of Bromsgrove Rovers is expected to be near completion tonight.
The Zamaretto League Division One Midlands club were placed in administration last month and Ward’s bid for the club was accepted by Sanderlings LLP, the appointed administrators.
Six weeks have passed since the Victoria Ground side were put into administration by former chairman Tom Herbert and fans are becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of news about the future of their club.
Sanderlings were hoping to have the sale of the club signed off today but the firm admitted there could be further delays in the completion.
Ward had hoped to seal the purchase last week.
The Birmingham-based administrators said the deal had been approved by the Football Association and they were just waiting for contracts to be signed.
Meanwhile, manager John Snape takes his side to Bury Town on Saturday (3pm) as they look to build on last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Beaconsfield SYCOB.
Snape handed a debut to experienced midfielder Gavin Winsper in the success over Beaconsfield after signing him from Stourbridge.
The Rovers boss said: “He works away quite a lot and hasn’t been available for Stourbridge as much as he would have liked but hopefully he can get some games under his belt for us.”
Rovers, who were deducted 10 points because of being placed in administration, are fourth from bottom.
