KIDDERMINSTER Harriers came from behind twice to earn a share of the spoils in a frenetic Blue Square Premier clash tonight.

The Aggborough outfit grabbed a battling draw in an encounter where driving rain and swirling winds made it difficult for both defences.

Wrexham defender Mike Williams twice fired the Dragons ahead but goals from Brian Smikle and Chris McPhee restored parity.

Keeper Dean Coleman ensured Harriers made it seven points from the last three games with some fine saves but almost paid the price for a lack of concentration in the final minute, only for Marc Williams to miss the target.

Harriers went into the match in buoyant mood after impressive wins over Blue Square Premier leaders Oxford and promotion-chasing Kettering.

They tested Wrexham’s Chris Maxwell in the third minute when Danny Andrew swung over a free-kick and the keeper tipped over Smikle’s header.

But the home side took the lead in the 26th minute when Mike Williams bundled home Wes Baynes’ free-kick.

Midfielder Smikle slammed in his first goal in eight games in the 33rd minute to equalise.

Harriers’ good work was undone in the 35th minute when the unmarked Mike Williams headed Wrexham back ahead from a corner.

But McPhee levelled again in the 44th minute when David McDermott was denied only for Robbie Matthews to set up the skipper from the rebound.

Smikle missed a great headed chance for Harriers in the second period.

But Coleman pulled off fine saves to stop Andy Fleming’s 30-yarder and a Curtis Obeng shot before Marc Williams’ late miss let Harriers off the hook.
