MALVERN Town were denied a deserved Midland Alliance away point after Kirby Muxloe scored a winner deep into injury-time. The visitors, with four youth players starting, took the game by storm with fine passing football.
Malvern looked like gaining revenge after losing 3-1 to Kirby Muxloe earlier in the season when Craig Carter slotted in Bryan Craven’s cross.
But the hosts woke up and forced two fine saves from keeper Lewis Skyers.
James Mason levelled on 43 minutes and Craig Pietrzyk swooped for the winner when a draw looked likely.
Malvern host Pershore Town in the Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup on Thursday night (7.30).
Meanwhile, Westfields recorded a first Alliance double of the season when they celebrated their 43rd anniversary with a 3-2 home win over Causeway United.
Fields, who are now seventh in the table, served up a fine second-half display after going two goals down to Stuart How’s harsh penalty and a Carl Hind tap-in.
But the hosts were gifted an own goal when Danny Cox lobbed his own keeper before Ashley Day’s header and Daryl Addis’ strike sealed the win.
