CHESHIRE Jets consolidated their spot in the top four of the BBL as they proved too good, especially in the second-half, for Wolves at the University of Worcester.

The home team were at full strength following their success last week against Milton Keynes Lions and took an early 7-0 lead.

Harry Disy opened the scoring with a maximum three from the top of the ‘D’ and he was to be the pick of the home players, going on to make 24 points although all but two were in the first-half.

The first-half was even throughout with neither side able to open a significant advantage and the game was locked at 50 points each as the teams went to the locker rooms.

Wolves’ current star man Evaldas Zabas was not proving quite so effective with his three-point attempts as normal.

He only connected with three of his 10 efforts in a personal tally of 20.

Chey Christie was the other Wolves player to catch the eye and he contributed 13 but 10 of those were in the first two quarters.

The Jets had seven players making double figure contributions.

Cheshire sealed the game in the third quarter when they held the Wolves to just 10 points while they went on with their calm, efficient style of basketball.

The last quarter started at 69-60 to the visitors and the Jets did not ease up at all as they kept their game-plan and discipline together to force a comfortable 96-80 win.

Cheshire scored 22 points off Wolves’ turn-overs and only allowed the hosts 10 free throws in the whole game.

This, coupled with their consistent scoring through all of the four quarters, gave them the advantage.

Wolves coach Chuck Evans has work to do with his squad as they face seven games in a month before the Christmas break.
