TWO talented students from Bowbrook House School in Peopleton have showered themselves in glory at the ISA National Swimming Championships in Coventry. Harry Sykes, aged 12 competed in three events, 50m individual breastroke, medley relay and the freestyle relay. He won each of the events to bring back an unprecedented three gold medals.
Tazmin Pugh, aged nine, competed in two events — the individual 50m backstroke for which she achieved a national record and the gold medal as well as the freestyle relay which she also won. Tazmin was also awarded with the most outstanding swimmer award for her age group.
Bowbrook House School’s head of PE, Richard Mills, said: “We could not be more proud of these two prolific performers. “They have clearly worked extremely hard for this event and have done so well to bring back five gold medals and a trophy between them.”
Harry and Tazmin are both members of Pershore Swimming Club.
