STOURPORT Swifts are hitting form at just the right time, according to manager Neil Hunt.
A 6-0 thrashing of Beaconsfield SYCOB last Saturday and Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against second-placed Chesham United in Zamaretto League Division One Midlands has left the Walshes Meadow side brimming with confidence.
Next up is a home match against Bury Town on Saturday (3pm) as Swifts look to continue their run and put pressure on the play-off places.
Hunt said: “The players have got a lot of confidence from the last few results.
“We defended well against Chesham, I thought they might score in the last 10 minutes but we held on.
“We’ve five or six games coming up that will determine our season but we go into them in the best possible form.”
Swifts switched to a 3-5-2 formation against Chesham, a game in which Chris Mortlock was on target, and Hunt believes he has the players to adapt when necessary.
The manager said: “At the moment we have a big squad and can afford to change things around when we need to.
“Players don’t always like that but when you’re winning I think it helps.”
