STOURPORT Swifts boss Neil Hunt feels the attitude at the Walshes Meadow club has completely changed since he joined last season.

Despite watching his side drop points against 10-men AFC Sudbury in the 1-1 draw in Zamaretto League Division One Midlands, Swifts still hold a solid mid-table position.

It is a stark contrast to the three seasons of relegation-battling they had previously endured.

Now they get set for the trip to Beaconsfield SYCOB on Saturday (3pm) and Hunt is targeting the play-off places.

He said: “I still think we are capable of going for the play-offs.

“We should be 10 points better off than we are and if we had those points we’d be in a great position.

“Saying that, there’s no doubt we’ve had a change of attitude at the club since I took over last season.

“Back then, people seemed happy with the players if they tried hard but lost and we had to change that.

“People were used to a relegation battle but now we’re in mid-table and looking up rather than down.

“We must make sure that after Christmas we’ve got something to play for.”

Hunt said former Worcester City striker Troy Wood could be recalled if he carries on his goal-scoring efforts for Pershore Town after netting three times for the Midland Combination outfit.
