MALVERN have been warned against complacency when they take on National Three Midlands basement boys Bedford Athletic at Spring Lane tomorrow (2.15pm).

Despite being only two places better off, Malvern gave league leaders Ampthill a run for their money last time out, losing 26-19, and will be looking to climb the table this weekend.

Centre Andy Hadden, who has been capped by Scotland under 21s, is due to make his debut after moving to the area through work.

Director of rugby David Robins said: “They are bottom of the table which is only two positions below us, but we have got to be looking for a win.

“We can’t be complacent, we have to assume we are on an even playing field.

“While they are the bottom club, they are still combative and we can’t go into the game thinking it will be a walk in the park.

“No games are easy at this level, and we go into a period where we have a couple of local derby games against Bromsgrove and Hereford to contend with.”
