ROB Elvins’ return from suspension is set to provide Worcester City manager Richard Dryden with a selection poser ahead of Saturday’s crucial match at Dorchester.

City are in desperate need of a victory following three straight defeats that have left them hovering above the relegation places.

The St George’s Lane club have won just three times in 17 matches this season and are yet to taste success on their travels.

They are looking to put the double-header home defeats against Welling United and Chelmsford City behind them and climb away from the danger zone.

Striker Elvins, whose three-match ban coincided with City’s dip in form, will once again be available.

Left-sided former youth team player Louis Bridges, the scorer of City’s last-gasp equaliser at Hampton and Richmond last month, could also be in contention.

Dryden said: “Louis is getting fit and has a knack of getting goals but the big player who has missed the last three games is Rob.

“He’s come in for a bit of stick but he relieves a bit of pressure when the balls go forward and wins his headers. It’s a bit like the scenario before the Eastleigh game.

“I’ve got a selection headache but we’ve got to go down there and win the game.”

Meanwhile, City’s annual fireworks spectacular raised £2,000 for the club.

Around 1,800 people attended the event last Friday.
