FIRST-CLASS umpire Richard Illingworth, the former Worcestershire cricketer, has been promoted to the ICC International Panel with immediate effect.
The ECB announced that both Illingworth and another first-class umpire, Richard Kettleborough, will join the international panel.
The pair will join their county colleague Nigel Llong who has stood in six Test matches since joining the international panel four seasons ago and will officiate in the forthcoming India v Sri Lanka Test series.
Kettleborough made his one-day international debut in the recent NatWest Series between England and Aus-tralia.
The appointment of the 36-year-old former Yorkshire batsman follows the promotion of Ian Gould to the ICC Elite Panel.
Former England spin bowler Illingworth, who like Kettleborough joined the first-class umpires list in 2006, has also been appointed to the international panel as a third umpire.
