HEREFORD United will be without striker Mathieu Manset for tonight’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy southern area quarter-final at Leyton Orient (7.00).

The Frenchman has been handed a three-match ban following his red card in Saturday’s 2-0 FA Cup first round win over Sutton Uni-ted at Edgar Street.

The Bulls had to play more than two thirds of the match with 10 men but still managed to progress to the second round and a meeting with Colchester.

Manager John Trewick disagreed with the decision to send the player off but now has to switch his focus to tonight’s trip to the Matchroom Stadium.

He said: “Unfortunately the referees often don’t see the first foul but what they do see is the reaction to the foul. It’s not really an excuse for the player.

“I felt he could have dealt with it differently.”

Hereford have so far beaten both Bristol Rovers and Aldershot on penalties to reach the last eight and move a step nearer a Wembley final.

As well as being without Manset, midfielder Marc Pugh, who has been plagued by a groin injury, is also not expected to travel.

Meanwhile, Evesham United visit Stourbridge tonight (7.45) in the quarter-finals of the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup.
