THERE was a thrilling National Three Midlands encounter at Finstall Park when Bromsgrove entertained Longton as the hosts snatched a dramatic 27-25 victory.
Toby Wilson made a fine break down the centre, before following up his chip to touch down in the corner to open the hosts’ scoring.
Not long afterwards, a Mark Coulson break put Richard Stockholm over in the opposite corner.
Longton replied with a try from flanker Joel Booth that Scott Rawlings converted.
Bromsgrove rallied with tries from Coulson and Wilson’s second, which Ben Copson improved, as the home side took a commanding lead.
Longton dominated the second-half, but were restricted to one try from a driving maul, which Craig Wilson touched down and Rawlings converted.
Rawlings levelled the scores with a penalty, before slotting a drop-goal which the visitors thought had won the match.
However, as Longton attempted to clear Copson’s deep re-start, Stockholm charged the kick down, followed up and dived over in the corner to snatch victory.
