STRIKER Marco Adaggio is poised for a recall to the Worcester City team as manager Richard Dryden looks to arrest his side’s dip in form.

City have lost their last two games — 4-1 at Eastleigh and 1-0 at home to Welling United in a lacklustre performance at St George’s Lane on Saturday.

Adaggio was left out of the squad at the weekend but is expected to return for tonight’s rearranged Blue Square South clash against Chelmsford City at the Lane (7.45).

The move could be one of several changes following Saturday’s dismal defeat which left City just a point above the relegation zone.

With only two shots on target throughout, Dryden is looking to shake things up.

“I’ll change it around,” the manager said. “I need players who have the desire to work hard and close players down. We didn’t do that on Saturday and when we did get the ball back we kept giving it away.

“The players who have been left out have a great chance of coming back in. Mark Clyde was probably our best player but two games in three days is probably a step too far for him. But when you’ve got somebody like Wayne Daniel to come in, that’s a plus.”

Chelmsford, whose original visit to the Lane on October 24 was postponed due to their FA Cup commitments, drew 1-1 at home to Maidenhead United on Saturday.

Glenn Pennyfather’s ninth-placed side are unbeaten in their last four league matches.

Dryden said: “They’re a good side and are looking to push up the table again. If they pass it well and we don’t close down, it could be a long night.”

Midfielder Craig Wilding said: “The Chelmsford match is a massive game and three points is a necessity. We have just got to pick ourselves up for tonight now.”

Forward Rob Elvins serves the final game of his three-match ban.
